Tentang Jurnal Ini

Nusantara Sociological Forum is a blind, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to disseminating empirical research, theoretical studies, and critical analysis in the social sciences, with a focus on sociology. The journal is managed and published by the Research School periodically, four times a year, in March, June, September, and December.

This journal aims to be an inclusive academic forum for mapping, analyzing, and responding to social, economic, cultural, and ecological dynamics. We focus on studies that position local communities as key actors amid the maelstrom of climate change, modernization, and structural transformation in both rural and coastal contexts.

Focus and Scope: The Nusantara Sociological Forum (NSF) invites academics, researchers, and practitioners to submit original manuscripts focusing on (but not limited to) the following areas:

Agrarian and Rural Sociology: A study of labor dynamics in the agricultural sector, the transformation of agrarian structures, shifting livelihood forms, and the socio-economic impacts of agricultural downstreaming.

Ecological Sociology and Environmental Resilience: Analysis of ecological capital, subsistence economies, and local community adaptation strategies to climate change and environmental disturbances.

Gender and Living Space: The role and contribution of women in rural and coastal areas in maintaining sustainable livelihoods, family resilience, and food security.

Sociolinguistics and Cultural Interaction: Cultural integration, inheritance, and preservation of local languages in coastal and island communities.

Economic Sociology and Development: The transmission of risks and impacts of macroeconomic or global geopolitical crises to grassroots economic units at the village level.

Research Methodology: This journal welcomes articles from a variety of sociological research traditions. We highly value empirical fieldwork, whether using quantitative, mixed-methods, or in-depth qualitative approaches (including those analyzed with Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS).

Open Access Policy: This journal provides immediate open access to all of its published content, based on the principle that making research results freely available to the public supports a broader and more equitable global exchange of knowledge.
